MEET MARCO

Over the past weeks I’ve really begun to realize that I have hands. They are useful for grabbing things, for sucking on, and for grabbing things to suck on! I also love to grab mom’s hair and not let go. She just loves that!

I have been enjoying books lately. My favorite is Kitten Tails. The Hoffmans gave it to me. I read it every day with my parents. I like to grab at the tails and turn the pages from right to left. My parents are proud of their little reader!

It’s actually my daddy, but he looks like me.

I have grown to love bath time! Splashing around in the nice warm water… Not sure why I didn’t like it before!  

Yesterday evening was mom and dad’s first choir rehearsal since I was born.  I came along to see what it was like. I enjoyed it for the most part. The music was very relaxing. Last night, my parents tried to put me down to sleep at a reasonable hour. At first I went with it, because I really was so tired. But then I thought- hey, what are they doing? Mom’s friend Bethany and her son Fischer came over today and we had a playdate! It was the first time I got to hang out with a baby my age. It was lots of fun! We played on my quilt and did a little tummy time. Fischer seems like a swell guy- I hope we get to have another playdate soon!

Apparently tummy time is a big important thing for newborns like me. I don’t know why… But putting me flat on my belly seems weird and until now I fought it vehemently! But somehow in the last few days I’ve been able to lift up my head better and tummy time is not so horrible. I don’t love it, but I’ll do it to make my parents happy. 

Being a baby, I have to wear a diaper. My mom and dad change my diaper all of the time. This could become tedious, if it weren’t for my FRIENDS! They hang over the changing station and sing to me every time I have to have my diaper changed. I love them soooo much! They are definitely my favorite toys and they make me happy every day!

I’ve heard a lot about these Hinely people, and when they came to visit from Colorado, I found out why! What fun, nice people they are! Here’s a picture of Uncle Tim holding me.
