We have been going through the four month sleep regression a little early over here. Marco is waking so often during the night and does not go back to sleep easily. We were trying to have him sleep in his own crib to see if that would help. It did seem to help a bit. However, he has been faced with a couple new sleep challenges. Two days ago, Marco mastered the skill of turning over from back to tummy. He practices this skill often, including in bed. Until now, he has slept swaddled and does not do well without the swaddle. But we must wean him of the swaddle for safety’s sake. This isn’t going well. On top of it all, Marco appears to be teething, which results in a LOT of tearful and painful episodes. Tonight we finally decided to swaddle him and have him sleep in the cosleeper so we can carefully watch him to be sure he doesn’t turn over. It is challenging for all of us, and nobody is getting much sleep. Marco remains cute as ever through it all!
